Dr Handelsman is a nationally and internationally recognized authority on diabetes and its comprehensive management approach, obesity, dyslipidemia, hypertension, insulin resistance, pre-diabetes, and CV disease prevention. He is the immediate past president of the Pacific Lipid Association, serves on the American Association for Preventive Cardiology’s board of directors, and is chair of the AACE Lipid & CV Health Disease network. He is an associate editor of the Journal of Diabetes, serves on the editorial board of several journals and is a frequent guest editor for publications such as the Journal of Clinical Hypertension.

    Mikhail N. Kosiborod, MD, is vice president of research at Saint Luke’s Health System, director of cardiometabolic research and co-director of the Saint Luke’s Michael & Marlys Haverty Cardio Metabolic Center of Excellence at Saint Luke’s Mid America Heart Institute, and professor of medicine at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine. Dr Kosiborod is an internationally recognized expert in diabetes and cardiovascular disease, cardiometabolic and cardiorenal syndromes, and quality care and outcomes. He has authored and co-authored several peer-reviewed publications, is involved in the leadership of numerous clinical trials and multicenter registries and is the principal investigator of several investigator-initiated, multicenter trials in diabetes and cardiovascular disease.

Schmidt College of Medicine in Boca Raton, and director of the Women’s Preventive Cardiology program at Boca Raton Regional Hospital. Dr Baum lectures nationally and internationally on topics that include familial hypercholesterolemia (FH), lipid disorders and evolving therapies, and integrative cardiology. He is the founder and chief medical officer of Excel Medical Clinical Trials, LLC, a founding member of the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography and the immediate past president of the American Society for Preventive Cardiology. He serves on various committees of the American Heart Association and is on the FH Foundation’s board of directors.
